Rodney Strong, the colorful founder of Rodney Strong Winery, began his career as a professional dancer. A star in the Paris Lido for years, the aromas of French wine lingered in his memory when he returned to America in 1951. After eight years of teaching and performing dance Rod realized that, as he put it, “I couldn’t be an old dancer but I could be an old wine maker.”
