St. Clair Winery was built in 1984 in Deming and is the largest winery in New Mexico. In their beautiful tasting room they have many of their award winning wines available. They have an extensive variety of white, sparkling and red wines. Malvasia, a favorite white wine is made from late harvest fruit, and has a floral aroma. It is a rich dessert wine with hints of honey, tropical fruits and a touch of spice sure to please the finest of palates. St. Clair Winery has won Gold Medals from competitions such as the 2006 Los Angeles Wines of the World and the 2005 Riverside International Wine Competition. Some of their red wines include Cabzin, Mimbres Red, DH Lescombes Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, DH Lescombes Syrah, Nebbiolo, and Port. They also have their very popular Merlot (Reserve) which boasts a rich, ruby red color, full fruity characteristics with hints of black currant and cherry mingled with essences of toasted oak. St. Clair offers tours of their winery on Saturday and Sunday. An employee walks you through the winery while explaining the process of creating great wine.
